By the time these super conferences expand again I won’t be surprised if we see them take the top earners and form their own conference. So big ten & SEC will probably look a lot different in the future if they are even still around

Google search shows about 1,500 more at NU. Could be wrong though.

I was wrong... I googled and saw 19k at NU and 21k at UVa -- must have been a glitch in the matrix.

I think the networks are banking on the idea that all college football fans will still tune in to watch those two super conferences whenever they break off and do their own thing (whether it's all current members or they drop some of the dead weight). What they don't realize is we already have the NFL, we don't need an NFL Lite, and college football fandom is way different than CFB fandom

Yeah exactly. Probably will get to 3 or 4 superconferces of about 24 teams each and then they will eventually break apart whenever the tv deals keep coming up. The money will decide who goes where. We all will probably be long gone by then so it won’t be our problem lol

ND AD Jack Swarbrick told me the reason they advocated for Cal and Stanford was because “The notion that two of the very best academic institutions in the world who also play D1 sports could be abandoned in this latest chapter of realignment is an indictment of college athletics.

Don't forget about the major league football MLF who have their headquarters in Lakewood Tanch founded by Frank Murtha. I don't know if they ever play a game though.

A large part of CF is the fandom.  And fandom has to do with relationships.  Relationships between fanbases in conference and rivalries.  Relationships take a while to form and fans who perpetuate them obviously value them.  If an external power consistently destroys established and new relationships, people will get frustrated and cease to form them.  Apathy.

Not kidding myself, I just disagree the ACC would implode. I think it'll fetch as much $$$ for its members after FSU/Clemson leave as the Big 12 does for its members, so why jump ship?

The PAC-12 meltdown was pretty historic. I don't expect it to happen again. I think the ACC will continue to exist right around the same level as the Big 12. The B1G and the SEC will make the most money, but the Big 12 and ACC will continue to have playoff access and a decent amount of money, just not on the same level as the B1G and the SEC.

I would agree with you if it were only FSU and Clemson who want to leave for more $$$........Don't overlook the fact that it has been widely reported that the Magnificent 7 have been working behind the scenes to get out of the GoR and leave the ACC

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
