The question will then be will the P4 become the P3 or P2?

I always thought P was 1.  Anyway, I think that's what it will be once the big boys of college football get through with the conference realignment fire drill.

He speaks the truth, we need FSU and Clemson to go. I would also think Miami as well just to ensure a position In the ACC.

So, if the ACC has 9 teams left and they add USF. Plus Oregon State, W state, SMU, SD state, and 6 others out west/central US. Gets to 20 teams across the nation. That seems to be what is happening

At this point, I wouldn't count on USF being the selected Florida team to backfill.  I'm sure FAU is all over this too with more recent success in the 2 revenue producing sports.

I was wondering when I might see this floated.  It appears the idea was strangled in the crib but I wonder who was being considered as the "best" of the MWC and the AAC.

SDSU's effort to rally a group of major programs into a new league fell short before it gained any momentum

If FSU, Miami and Clemson figure a way out of the ACC GoR the conference will be gutted of any teams with any value by the B10, SEC, and B12.............and then there were 3

Call it schadenfreude, but as a USF fan, I've concocted a no-lose scenario for myself in realignment:

  • If FSU and/or UM remain in the ACC, they will most certainly get "left behind" in the sense that they will never get the same payouts as P2. That fact is what's driving instability in the ACC. I know a lot of FSU and UM fans and enjoy drinking their tears when they complain about their "lesser than" status.
  • On the other hand, if FSU and/or UM do manage to move into the P2 (which I expect will eventually happen, whether this year or in the future), then that could open up one or more spots for USF in the ACC, which would also be good news from a money/competition perspective.

It is true that FSU and UM still make vastly more money than USF if nothing changes, but USF can still win its conference and potentially compete in the playoffs. And that's all I really care about as a fan. Trying to stay positive here.

no they won't.

big 10 / SEC won't want anyone else and ACC contract is equivalent to big 12.

I'm not sure why Miami is mentioned so much. They've done nothing in the ACC.

won one division championship in 2017 and lost 38-3 in conference championship game.

their glory days are long past.

For good or ill, they're a "brand." That's all that really matters.

I haven't seen Miami's name come up much at all.

Still feel that if the B1G is holding out on going to 20 that they're waiting to come to the Southeast.
