I literally googled that and it said Mountain lol. Thanks for the correction.

Wait Jim are you sure? -

Current time in Phoenix, Arizona with information about Phoenix, Arizona official time zones and daylight saving time.

Arizona does not change it's time... so it's still in "Mountain Standard Time" which is the same as "Pacific Daylight time".  Which means when Arizona or Arizona State have a September or October game at 7:00pm local time ... that is 10:00pm Eastern time.

By your logic, can the MWC offer WSU and OSU the same amount of money as the AAC?

Well, a $2 million dollar difference between MWC and AAC pales in comparison to a $20 million difference between AAC and ACC.

Or, what @BullyPulpit said.

The difference between the ACC and the AAC is substantial. The difference between the AAC and the MWC is not as big. Those schools are out there on an island and would be a better fit in the MWC if Stanford and Cal are out of the mix.

Interesting. Presumably both the B1G and Big 12 aka BigMid also knew this, but decided to pass. Would love to understand how this could translate to enough extra money that FSU et al. remain in place, but alas, I'm not willing to dig that much.

To my point:

One way to keep the ACC together would be to get Notre Dame as a full member.  That would drive the value much higher for ESPN, especially if that includes their partner in crime Stanford.

I doubt that will happen.... and if it does, I take back everything I said about the future of USF.

But that could be the only thing that keeps FSU in the ACC.

B12 doesn't have any pacific time zone teams, and the MWC's tv deal is with..... Fox and CBS. ESPN has zero pacific time inventory, with the furthest west schools of the B12 being Utah/BYU and the Zona's.

AZ and AZ State are in PT during September and October for 8 of their 12 games.

ND already stated that they will remain independent. Mher is reporting that SEC is talking with ESPN with regards to adding a 9th conference game while adding two more schools to help inventory. My guess is that SEC grabs FSU & Clemson. ACC will probably agree to a settlement with those schools and then add UConn & USF.

You’re going to speak this into existence. 🤞

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
