Some people here mention a merger of the remaining PAC4 with some of the AAC. Obviously some of it is wishful thinking since it that would probably be best for USF

But why would they do that?

Wouldn't a merger with the MWC, or at least the stronger teams of the MWC be the best choice for them? The upper teams are comparable to the AAC plus travel would be a lot easier.

They would do that because of the TV deal. I'm pretty sure that the MWC's TV deal is with CBS Sports, which is a pretty terrible network.

Why not take the 4 remaining PAC programs and then add SDSU and either Colorado State or Boise State to the AAC?

Fair enough. Then it may be OSU and wsu under the provision that they take a lower cut.
