I am not saying you're wrong ... just that we all know that would be the statement.  OBVIOUSLY they are monitoring the situation closely.  OBVIOUSLY there isn't a lot they can actually do.  OBVIOUSLY they can talk to their colleagues at the other conferences.  Are we really so insecure that we need that kind of reassurance?
