Killed the golden goose.  Regionalism is out the window.  We don't have the amount of money to just buy our way in to the bigger conferences.  AAC likely loses teams that are centrally located or more western.  No where for us to go right now.  Come on ACC and SEC.  Looking for movement there.

Yeah but I guess we have it made being USF fans. Why you ask? Well because we have already been through this before when USF didn’t make it out of the Big East conference realignment. We have been relegated to the AAC ever since. Those schools that don’t make it out of the PAC 12 are going to be joining our misery lol. They say misery loves company so things are looking up for USF. At least USF is located in the east coast instead way out west like WSU or Oregon State.

I would rather be located east than west when It comes to sports so USF and a watered down ACC or AAC has that going for us. Say AAC loses SMU I hope they are replaced by an eastern team like Liberty, Marshall, Georgia St, App State, etc

At this point if the PAC blows up with only OSU and WSU are left. One of best move for those left over is a best of MWC/AAC league.

WEST: Oregon St,Washington State,Boise,Fresno,SDSU,Air Force, Colorado St

EAST: SMU,UTSA,Tulane,Memphis,USF,ECU,Navy/Wichita St

You could do a mix ESPN/ Apple deal there for close to 15 million

Would be better deal unless ACC comes calling if only FSU/ Clemson left.

This is what is interesting to me.  We are having this decadent money race to the bottom while the air is simultaneously being let out of the balloon and it ain't coming back.

yeah it is interesting. ESPN is just a pass through for carriage fees. As the fees increased, ESPN profits increased and the contracts increased as well. Now that fees are starting to decrease as well as profits eventually the contracts will decrease as well.

I think you will see some of the more egregious contracts reworked either through equity split or forced bankruptcy negotiations similar to what MLB, NHL and NBA are going through with Bally's right now.

They are ruining college sports with the chase for revenue.

In the end it will be whatever each school can generate in subscriber fees that determines how much they get paid for their media rights.

Adding FSU doesn't really help the SEC . They already have by far the best football and athletics programs.

Helps them lock down Florida at the same time making sure Big Ten doesn’t invite both FSU & Miami. More people have been moving to Florida so I don’t think one school located in Gainesville is going to cut the mustard long term

I believe GSwaim has the latest in that the SEC are now joining the conference alignment fun. And I won’t be shocked if they go after the big 12 once again.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
