The problem in all of this is that the companies that hold the TV rights naturally want consolidation. They would rather take half of what they are paying to ACC teams each year ($238 million) and redistribute that to their biggest partners (B1G and SEC). They are propping up the Big 12 right now in an effort to kill the PAC12. They don't really care about the Big 12. If they determine that a few of the teams in the Big 12 have value they will let that be known to their real partners (SEC and B1G) and they will poach those teams eventually. There is a reason why the Big 12 TV deal only runs through 2031.

It is also why they didn't make a meaningful TV deal offer to the PAC. Of course a TV network would naturally want that programming. The PAC gives them the ability to broadcast a litany of games into the early morning hours on the east coast. But they can still get those marquee west coast games if their most profitable commodities have members from the form PAC. This is essentially what they did to the Big East and is part of their larger plan over the next decade. The question is do they want 2 mega conferences or 4 super conferences. Time will tell, but they will absolutely get what they want in the end.

What are the odds that within the next 10-20 years we are streaming our own content on a USF streaming channel.  Just want to know when @puc86 and the March to Independence reinitiates.  I shall re-join.

SMU and SDSU would move the needle. Obviously not for the ACC, but they would move for others.

I guess I'm not clear on what "move the needle' means ........ I figure if they can move needles, they'd be snapped up already.
