They would still get exit fees... and likely a new ESPN deal.

I think ESPN actually likes the ACC deal as it is now, with the teams in it now.

It represents value, where so many other deals they over paid for.

Of course, once the money teams leave, then ESPN will want to blow it up.

If FSU/Clemson/UNC/UVA do bounce for the SEC and we are one of the backfills who else would y’all want to make the jump with us?

my top 3 would be Memphis, UConn, Tulane/SMU

dream scenario would be WVU, Cincinnati, UCF.

West Virginia is highest priority on my list.  Those games in the 2000s were fun and was probably arguably our best rivalry outside of UCF.  The rest of your suggestions would fall into the 2nd tier for me.  After that, is there anyone in the Sun Belt that could jump to fill that mid-Atlantic gap if UNC/Clemson/UVA bounce?  ECU could be a maybe as well.

I can't begin to answer that question without knowing what they new ACC 2.0 deal would look like. After the dust settles, the Big 12 could be, if not already, in position as the third best conference from a monetary perspective. Not sure if the ACC 2.0 would be able to compete with B12 money.

3,000 pages by the end of the week.  So excited for this.

I noticed that but didn't want to make too much of it... although his use of that particular term is pretty awesome lol

Bullish just tells me it could be Bulls like or Bulls adjacent. Any teams with a Bison or Buffalo is going to the ACC at this point

Of course ESPN likes the current deal... but it's not tenable.

But if ESPN voids the deal unilaterally, the ACC (whomever that is) will be seeking a new contract.  ESPN has spent quite a bit on the ACC Network, so they will want to provide a new ESPN deal to help recoup that investment.  Given the remaining teams, I don't see the "New ACC" being worth much less than ESPN currently pays.

If anything it will be "SUPER Pacific Atlantic American Athletic Conference" (SPAAAC).

Is it going to get an IPO and go on a stock exchange?

Maybe it's my distrust in ESPN, but I just don't see them offering close to what they're paying them now sans FSU, Clemson, etc. unless that's a concession they have to make to get the remaining members to agree to dissolving the current deal. Especially because it will likely mean having to pay 4 new schools getting promoted to the ACC (and in the case of AAC schools getting promoted, significantly more than they're paying them now)

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
