You are delusional if you think anyone other than B1G gives a **** about academics at this point. Its about survival and how much $ can they retain if any. No one is here to play school.

Good points about the academics part. I remember a recent ACC meeting had saying forget the academics now. Also remember Clemson & FSU having meetings to discuss the GOR roadblocks. Same with Miami. Deadline is 8/15 to find out if this happens

Until someone explains to me precisely how FSU, Clemson, Miami, and Georgia Tech have wriggled out of the ACC’s GoR… respectfully, the idea that these schools are going to either the SEC or the B1G before 2036 are the delusional ramblings of psychotic rumor-mongers looking for clicks. And nothing more. After all, that was the entire purpose of the GoR. To keep them from getting poached by other conferences.

So I guess what I’m saying is… I’m skeptical.

Unless they all somehow get the funds to pay the GOR exit penalty. We will know by 8/15

I read somewhere that the GoR penalty for FSU if it were to leave next year would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 million. Who knows what they can come up with, but that seems prohibitive, which is why they haven’t already made the jump and seem unlikely to do so now. But we’ll see what happens.
