Break it into pod scheduling too and travel disadvantage could be minimized

Pod 2: Stanford, Cal, Fresno State, SDSU

Pod 3: Arizona, ASU, Utah, Boise State

Pod 4: USF, Memphis, SMU, Tulane

He was rationalizing post-hoc because he knew that the university wasn't going to give him an OCS any time soon. He had no choice but to play up the positives at RJS.

Back then, with the facilities we had on campus, RJS was one of our best recruiting tools--relatively speaking.
