I agree with you however I am further along in the grieving process and am no longer as bummed about the situation as you currently are, it will get better, keep your chin up.

I am no longer as bummed as I used to be.  I just hate for other people to actually think USF is getting out of here.

I'm thinking that most reasonable (and yes, I know there is no objective standard for what constitutes reasonable) fans would like to see U of SF out of the AAC and in a P5 conference. How could you not pine for such? However, I also think those same reasonable people realize that we are not first round draft picks. All of the P5 shufflin' has to wrap up, media deals cut, and considerable improvement on the part of USF before THEY start looking at USF as a value-added component. Inclusion is not imminent. And while USF is doing everything it can to become desirable, the finished product is way down the road. Until then, however, we're going to fantasize and express our wishes and concoct scenarios where all of the stars align...ad nauseam. Why? 'Cause there's nothing good on TV and game day is still weeks away.

If the Pac 12 commish had half a ball he'd invite the top 3 or 4 teams from the MWC and create gulf coast pod from the AAC and create a national powerhouse. You essentially LOCK yourself in as a P5, you SHUT OUT the ACC from having options when they get gutted.

Get CSU, UNLV, SDSU, USF, SMU, Tulane, Memphis. Bam done.

I'll be sending him my consulting bill too.

That was the case before the Colorado news.

Yup. They just have no sense of urgency

Let’s say both the ACC and PAC end up having 5 teams each after all this expansion.

Merge them, snag SMU, Memphis, Tulane, USF, UConn, SDSU, CSU, Boise. Got to 18 teams

Hard to believe ACC would lose their 3rd  best conference status. From reading what the ACC commissioner said it seems like they are going to be more proactive than reactive when it comes to conference realignment. I see SEC, BigTen, ACC, and then big 12 as being the top 4 conferences

I still see teams like FSU, Miami, Clemson, UNC getting invites to other conferences.

Maybe Pitt to B12 if they get really ambitious.

Maybe VA tech as well. That would leave 8 teams?

The more expansion/realignment, it seems the replacement candidates get worse and worse.

The way I see this realignment, four 18 teams conferences. Each split into 3 pods of 6 teams. East, Midwest, West. 5 games in pod, 2 each from the other two pods.

I also feel like I make up new scenarios each day depending on what I read rumor wise.

We all would ...... reality is we may not be.

If, by some chance, all this shifting happens before the Board of Governors meeting for the OCS I could see some "no" votes. I don't think it could happen that quickly but if it did.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
