I am still a disbeliever in the value of bowl games and so therefore their fun stuff just like some other schools’ fun stuff is nice for the school but it’s not a real game.

maybe they had one that was meaningful, I’m not sure.

I remember them upsetting some big programs over the last 25 years. Three ny6 bowls under different coaches is very good for a g5 time. I am really surprised the pac12 or b12 didn't pick them up. They have more ny6 wins in last 25 years then BYu, Cinncinatti, UCf, or Houston. I used to think we could be the next Boise then we fired Leavitt. We had the momentum and pissed it all away.  They seem to always be able to hire coaches that fit their system and identify. Something USF never established after Leavitt. Crazy to see they have had only two losing seasons in 27 years. I know the conferences were bad at first but the MWC is just as good as the current AAC.

They had some exciting bowl games but no meaningful ones. They did have a lot more reg season wins over ranked teams than some other school, including a couple of undefeated seasons, but BSU's marketing department wasn't as effective ...... no banners or parades.

WE have but we have not had any influence on hires or neglecting athletics for academics.

Well I seem to remember a lot of USF fans being on board with the hires of CJS, CSH, and CCS. So maybe we had some influence and deserve some of the  blame

The win over Oklahoma was the fiesta bowl during the BCS era. They also won it in 09 and 14. Fiesta was one of the major BCS bowls. Are we only considering National Championships meaningful now? If so, what's the point of playing for 99% of teams

Wouldn't be hard to just say she put USf football on the backburner for AAU Status and  hired all of the wrong coaches after firing Leavitt. There were two major drop offs in performance for USf Football. The first is after Jim was fired and the second which is even worse is the hiring of Ad MK. It does not matter how you want to compare it there was a huge drop off in performance when Leavitt was fired and there was another drop off in performance when AD MK was hired.

Leavitt- 75-44  0.630  63% Win percentage.

Post Leavitt USF- 66-91  0.388  39% win percentage

Pre AD MK - 141 - 98  0.589  59%win percentage

AD MK-   15  -43 0.258  26% win percentage

You can say it all you want, as you do, but it’s still not going to change anything.

So embrace the suck ... do we embrace the people who got Jim first and the ad who has guided football into the worst state in its history?

Again, NOTHING will ever change the past. Has NOTHING to do with embracing anything.  My comment had NOTHING to do with VPMK. Absolutely no one is happy about where we are, but we’re here. Continually griping about it here, again, will change NOTHING.

So what actions on here do you think will accomplish anything?

Meaningful is in the eye of the beholder. Not sure how it worked back in the BCS days, but if 1 played 2 for the natty and 3 played 4, I'd call the 3v4 bowl fairly meaningful. Other than that, you may have had some good matchups but they were still basically exhibition games ... and the point of playing for 99% of teams is that it's college football.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
