Not to venture too far off topic but man this NU crap is making me realize it can always be worse... say what you will about our program under xCJS but it was a super clean program. In the grand scheme of things I'd rather have our problems than NUs. Full stop. I'll be over here counting my blessings...

I haven't heard any credible rumors that their Big Ten status is actually in jeopardy.

Are you talking about Nebraska or Northwestern? I doubt the big 10 would remove either if they let kids get raped and groomed for years.

Northwestern. They fired their golden goose head coach. We all know what way that can go.

I guess the only head scratcher is Dekalb, Illinois?  Besides being the home to Cindy Crawford and the invention of the barbed wire I don’t see any attraction whatsoever, place is lame as hell. You scheduled this out over 4 years from now? What am I missing?  I guess if you like corn then you will fit right in.

Same distance from Chicago as Nashville to Bowling green

I'd add Atlanta, Miami, and Raleigh-Durham to that. Plus I'd be interested in visiting the Virginia schools and Clemson (not for the cities).

In the B12, I'd only really be interested in visiting Fort Worth (TCU) and Provo (BYU). Maybe Houston and Cincinnati if the moons aligned (Octoberfest).

ACC locations >>>> B12.

Atlanta makes for a nice connection but it’s not a stop over, I would add Miami but I have them on the list of not going to be here any longer along with FSU, Clemson and UNC. Most of the ACC and the B12 are in what I consider to be fly over country and as a general rule if you are south of the mason Dixon line and north of the I-4 corridor I prefer visiting from a window 30k feet in the air.

Didn't you do road trips growing up?  The trip itself can be a significant part of the fun, especially with good friends or family.

Sure, a lot of people will fly so Tampa to Raleigh or Tampa to Boise isn't that much of a difference... but there will be a segment who cannot afford that kind of expense (especially students) - a road trip split four ways can be less than the price of an airline ticket.

I took a few road trips in my younger days but I remember the driving part as fondly as I remember ramen noodles and light domestic beer.

Flyover states are by definition in between the coasts, and it's literally the Atlantic Coast Conference lol. Sure it doesn't include Annapolis anymore (definitely on the visit list), but to say that Pittsburgh is preferred over places like Atlanta, Louisville and Raleigh-Durham is pretty interesting. Where does the affection towards Pittsburgh come from?

You can’t bail out on USF. USF will get things around by then i hope.

I've been there for 40 years. It wouldn't be a voluntary "bail out" ....

They can always hire Jeffery Scott.

Flyover country is the good stuff though.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
