I have to see how much the costs would be. Basically the mainstream perception is the big 12 is going to be looked down on like the big east was. People will continue to bash it until they figure out how to talk another power conference school into joining. I do think it was wise of them to table expanding because they basically can’t convince any other power schools to join them right now. I don’t want USF to take them out of position for the inevitable ACC invite.

I don't know that I agree. A conference with Oklahoma State, TCU, Cincy, West Virginia, UCF, Texas Tech, BYU. Houston, Kansas , Kansas State, and then presumably USF and Memphis would be a  pretty great conference in my opinion.

I do believe we will eventually see the money run dry and then see more conferences formed.

2008 style conference housing crisis?

I’m sorry but I can’t get really excited about playing most of the schools. Maybe Ok St but how long before one of the P4 steal them away?  This has big east all over it.

I bet they think its a pretty great conference without USF and Memphis.

Can the ACC talk another power program into joining it?

Seems to me the bottom three may all have a problem with that.  They get what the SEC and Big10 don't need.

Yes of course lol. WVU who they already rejected due to academics. Don’t think they would need more after they talk both USF & UConn into joining. ACC will be strong but still behind SEC & Big Ten but ahead of the PAC12 to round out the P4

I understand, but playing these mentioned Big 12 teams  is 5 steps up from playing Tulsa, North Texas, Rice, Temple, Charlotte, and just about the same amount of travel

Over a five year stretch (05-09), the Big East had 5 (five!) different teams break into the top 10 (Louisville, West Virginia, USF, Cincy and Futgers), with 4 (all but Futgers) making it into the top 5, at various points. Regardless, the Big East was perceived as the weakest of the BCS conferences. Over that span, our conference fairly regularly outperformed the ACC in football, but that did nothing to change that perception because that was the perception that the media (see: ESPN) pushed as they attempted to undercut the media value of the conference

Like I said i would have to see how much money and how high the costs are before I got too excited. It would have to be something long term guaranteed. Not joining a conference paying all these exit & entrance fees only to be part of another sinking ship
