I'm at 2767 because of Hidden posts ....... which is kind of staggering considering there are 67 pages worth of stuff that wasn't deemed appropriate for this thread.

Wow, how many people are you hiding?

We missed a step (or two) way back when and those are being taken now.

I think the IPF should have been made a priority way back when but not sure what other steps were viable to be made until recently ....

I'm thinking there's one "former" member with a large number of Hidden posts but most are just bad choices made by other members ......... and trolls, usually our pathetic, obsessed state mates.

But USF needs to start winning some games.

Focus on achieving what you can reasonably achieve (win your conference, go to bowl games, etc.). The rest will take care of itself and you can enjoy the ride in the meantime. That's my philosophy, anyways.

I agree, with one exception.  Nothing great takes care of itself.  We've learned that.  However, having a program with a heart and strong need to compete and win in our own on-campus stadium make for a very enjoyable product.  I look forward to that for sure, even if we are in what's left of the AAC.

Those steps are much larger now though and aren't accompanied by an amazing upstart program that slays giants.  Tough timing to be where we are.  I appreciate your dialogue on the matter.  Rarely in today's world would anyone write what you wrote above.

I know you and I have had this conversation before. The IPF conversation goes back almost 20 years.

Heck yeah!! Cheers to that! Like I keep saying. The new playoff format may change just about everything. If schools like App State can find a way to have fun playing football there is no reason why USF can’t find the fun in football too…

Understood. I guess what I meant by "the rest will take of itself" isn't so much that it doesn't require attention or tending to, but rather that we (i.e. the average fan) must depend on USF administration/athletics to work on building a strong argument why our success on the field, attendance, donations, facilities, recruiting, etc. means we belong in better conference. Aside from donating and attendance, there's not much we (the average fan) can really do on the conference front; though our bigger donors can help keep administration/athletics accountable for the overall direction of the program, including potential realignment scenarios.

Add attendance, clearly something else we can do

And it should have been made a reality back then if there was any way possible. Not sure it would have automatically changed where we are conference wise, but definitely couldn't have hurt football wise.

Thankfully it has now become a reality. Next up OCS and then we will witness seeing the growth of USF sports across the board.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
