We were complacent until Weatherford spoke up and said something…. The days of complacency basically are long gone now

Not with VPMK handing out extensions to perennial losers (did I do this right @Outlaw?)

I doubt the ACC falls apart lol. They have too much going for it. If any conference falls apart it will be more than likely the big 12 as they continue to lose schools

The Big 12 is probably 50x more stable than the ACC right now because they're loaded with largely middle-of-the-pack P5ers that the other power conferences don't want.

How is the ACC planning on luring WVU/Cincy/UCF away from the Big 12 to join their conference? They planning on paying their exit fees to assist them to move laterally for similar or less money? Gonna play the sentimental card with the former Big East schools to come back and play their former Big East brethren that left them high and dry and started all this BS in the first place? Unless somebody else starts swiping Big 12 schools (a la Kansas to B1G or something similar), I don't see any way that the ACC is in a position to poach anybody from the Big 12

Lawyers for a subset of schools have been thoroughly examining the document. One industry source said he was told that seven ACC schools are interested in exploring ways to leave the ACC.

“If it were simple, everybody would have done it already,” an ACC source pointed out.

...

When is one or more ACC schools going to challenge the ACC’s grant of rights? Could it be this summer? Next year? Or much closer to the end of the contract that runs through 2036? Everyone knows there are disgruntled members, led by Florida State and Clemson, but it’s not quite clear what would be required, legally and financially, to attempt to exit the ACC prior to 2036.

ACC schools are locked into the conference until 2036. As the SEC and Big Ten get richer, do those schools have any real options to cash in?

Interesting. I foresee FSU & Clemson heading to SEC while ACC reloads with USF & UConn.

Verry likely regarding FSU and Clemson heading to the SEC at some point. I wonder what options Miami will have. It would be to our benefit if they get picked up by another conference as well since the ACC would likely seek to replace them with a Florida school.

However, we need to start winning now or we will be stuck in the AAC.

If we don't reach a bowl game next year (2024-2025 season), and there is no considerable improvement in basketball ( in the 2024-2025 season),  Kelly would have to go in my opinion. These next two seasons will be verry important.

I think he would be gone if it plays out like that.

Think Miami will be stuck in the ACC playing USF lol. Miami BC Cuse and Pitt VT have good rivalries going back to the Big East days. Think the ACC will thrive on great rivalries moving forward.

Here is how I rate strength of the conferences:

Branding - Meaning they have schools with strong name recognition

Bowl Game Lineup - Meaning they have a lot of meaningful bowl game & ties outs to big payouts

Didn't this happen before the B12 blew up?

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
