Weirder things have happened. Look at Rice and Charlotte being invited by the AAC. Certainly these two weren't the best programs available. We don't know exactly what criteria conferences will be looking at during next expansion. Certainly winning will be important, but there are other things that might make us desirable ( location, potential,...).

I agree. USF has the market/location. I just hope we don’t jump on the first opportunity when the. Inevitable ACC invite looms..

That would be a disaster for USF to join a west coast conference lol. USF better just say no to PAC 12 or big 12. I do believe the better option (ACC) will eventually get USF.

I get that the Pac 12 would not be ideal... it would suck for road trips ... but a disaster?  An extra $20 million per year would not be a disaster.

Besides, if the WAC and ASUN can join forces, USF to the PAC isn't that far fetched.

Members of the Atlantic Sun and WAC have agreed to form the foundation of a 10-member football-only conference with plans to join the FBS, sources told ESPN.

Starting 7/1/23. Good baseball program. Academics. Houston market. Football didn’t do too bad last season. I expect USF to pick up win # 3 this season as we host them. Got us beating FAMU, Charlotte & Rice

I think sometimes teams just say they are in the AAC and since  no one bothers to keep an accurate list of who is in it at some point if you just claim it long enough that you are actually in. There is no way anyone can convince me that this is a strategic, good or worthwhile grouping.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
