Interesting that in latest reports the PAC is considering Colorado State if it goes past adding two.

interesting because CSU similar to USF has great Research and similar academics. 
 

Their football has struggled , their last winning season was 2017 and they are 14-38 since then.

They did spend in building their 200+ million stadium a few years ago.

Dont think they will get added due to Colorado being there already, but found the fact that they are attractive to PAC interesting for those that keep thinking USF wouldn’t be attractive to Big12 or ACC in future

I have zero doubt that the stadium that they built will be helpful to their case in future realignment.

USF is attractive for many reasons to the BIg 12. The media market, us being in Florida,.... I really believe that if we had sustained winning under Strong we would have been invited by the Big 12 by now. Also the Big 12 would want a travel partner and a built in rivalry for UCF.

There would still be the threats of that conference failing like the Big East or getting raided by the big 2.  Or maybe chatter about us moving up to the SEC and other shenanigans?

Yes, even if we get to the the Big 12 there will always be the chance that if we do well, and there is more conference realignment that we can move up even more; perhaps ACC.

For example look at TCU, and West Virginia ( two teams who have moved up recently). It would not be shocking to me that TCU ends up in the Pac, or West Virginia in the ACC at some point. Moving to another conference doesn't preclude further movement in the future. Hence this thread will always be alive and well.

USF officials can’t make same mistake they made once they got into the Big East. One of the biggest issues that led to where we are is that our administrators acted like that’s it we made it and rather than keep investing in program, just did enough to keep it going. We never moved to top of Big East and seemed ok with it.
