No surprise there. ND has the power and tradition to do what it wants.

If the Big Ten were to expand its conference membership beyond just USC and UCLA, it could open the door to add another media package. The potential addition of more West Coast schools such as Stanford/Cal and Oregon/Washington would also supply the conference with the inventory to sell in a late-night Saturday package, a league source pointed out.

Kevin Warren has seen up close the power of having relationships with multiple over-the-air national broadcast partners. Now he'll wield it.

The Big Ten deal is seven years... it ends in 2030.  Can the other conferences find a way to get their packages to end at that time as well?

"A Big Ten source stressed that the substantial revenue increases over the current deal will arrive in Years 3 to 7 of this contract. “Disbursements in Year 1 will be similar to the 2022–23 disbursements per school and begin to gently slope up in year two,” the source said."

So, I'm guessing that adding teams will be looked at in years 3-7 so that present schools won't be losing as much when they have to share with more schools.

Part of it the reason paying back Fox for some of what they did to prop up the BTN during the 2020 season... Also CBS still has some SEC games the first year.

The expansion is likely West... to add more inventory for the fourth time slot... (Big Ten After Dark)

--------------------------

The hardest part will be whether any team is available.  The Pac 10/12 will likely sign a new GOR.

So it may have to be "now" rather than 3-7 years.

Big10 is ran by Gordon Gecko while the others are ran by Michael Scott. AAC is more like Ronald McDonald.

I know an academic powerhouse with a big media market with record fundraising that is about to build a stadium:

And the pressure for ACC expansion increases

Hey! We would bode well in the B10. No doubt.

Or this could cause some chaos for the PAC 12 unity since the members with a realistic shot of leaving to the B1G would either try to get their new deal to end at the same time as the B1G deal, or they'd push for no GOR.
