True story we have to be ranked teams and power 5 programs to gain relevance every chance we get. We can't get getting blown out any time we play a top 25 team. Time to step up from the coaching staff.

I would expect that we get to that position in 2024,

my favorite part of realignment in this era, is c. fans pretending like their "ascent" to a watered down big 12 is the end-all, be-all for how great they are. this landscape is rapidly changing and in a few, more conferences will shift.  college football is cyclical, and USF will end up in a new conference situation in the next few years - not the power 2 (BIG 10, SEC), but at a competitive and respectable level.

I personally hope it's an ACC style of conference. I think we fit well into that picture, getting the chance to play teams like GT, BC, UVA, VT, pitt, etc.

this football season will be important for setting the right trajectory for this future realignment

If we win the National Championship in 2025 then how likely are we to repeat in 2026?  We are building the right culture to make this possible and I will be disappointed if we don’t defend our crown.
