And every week leading up to it was exciting. I don't even watch CFP polls until the final one, because they always flip them upside down in the final one.

Pretty sure the Rose Bowl was before the Sugar, but good point.

IT really depends how far back you want to go and do you count split champions according to the NCAA.  There are definitely a bunch of frequent flyers on there.

I went back to 1966 - when I was born - and counted 21 schools.

Like you say, I don’t think that winning a national championship should be on USF’s radar. However, as a fan and alumnus, I want “to feel” that my school is in a conference where there is at least there is a chance before the season starts.

Exactly.  Also having conference games against other schools who are potentially on the NC radar every year makes so much more fun to watch.

We literally are in a conference that does have a chance.

We also have future OOC schedules that give us the opportunity to be in that conversation if we run the table.
