Maybe…but the AAC would be that cheap indoor league where the fans call the plays.

I said it before and will say it again. Those not included in the P3 should create a 16 team playoff.

It’s interesting to think about. I bet most in this board hate the idea.

Yes lol In that case I’m all for it. I believe the reason we have not already seen something like that already is because of the money everyone receives which kind of makes it like hush money lol.

I don't see how there will be a P3.

With Texas and Oklahoma bound for the SEC, the Big 12 is a LOT weaker than they portray themselves. Yes, they added the 3 (currently) best teams from the AAC, but that's not even close to keeping the Big 12 on par with the SEC/B1G to be considered a part of a P3.

Oklahoma State got done dirty by Oklahoma. If there's one more team from the Big 12 that I could see jettisoning to the SEC: it's them.

I think there are some teams in the ACC that fit in the SEC (FSU, Miami, and Clemson) and some that fit in really well to the B1G (UNC and Duke).

I understand ACC has the GoR thing until 2036, but I'm pretty sure that's not going to hold up realignment when it comes crashing like an avalanche, i.e. 5 teams agreeing to leave. It's a matter of time and we might not even have to wait 14 months, let alone 14 years.

Adding those 4 teams puts the SEC at 20-team super conference status with pretty much every flagship program in the south from Texas to the Atlantic Ocean.

The B1G has already added UCLA and USC from the PAC, and the Big 12 is desperately trying to poach the rest of the PAC's good teams. The problem for the Big 12 is that they aren't a regional or cultural fit for those west coast teams and on top of that they kinda suck too right now with Baylor being their best team. Oregon wants into the B1G and I've heard Washington thrown around in some rumors. I personally think that Oregon and Stanford would be a great fit for the B1G.

If the B1G added those 4 more teams, they'd have a coast-to-coast 20 team super conference dominating Football and Basketball.

So, where does that leave the depleted Big 12 and PAC? What about the teams in the American that "got left behind" (as if they're the only conference getting the shaft in this mess)?

I think the best case scenario for all of the conferences — and that's why it probably would never happen — is to merge the Big 12 and AAC into a 20-team conference and merge ACC and PAC into a 20-team conference. The main curveballs are putting WVU back where they belong and the new "Pacacc" should call up SDSU and maybe Boise State or someone equivalent. The Utes fit in better in the Old West division of the new Big American. Notre Dame stays independent, because they can.

****, I stop watching football for 5 years and it all goes to hell. I would watch the **** out of these conferences though.

We shall see. Probably be a P4 with ACC, SEC, PAC12, BigTen. I just don’t see the Big 12 being able to find any power teams to anchor them. They are kind of going away like the University Mall did after they lost their anchor stores.

He should have said P2. The B12 will be the third best conference when it’s all said and done (the ACC will get picked apart with the best leftovers going to the B12, and the PAC will be picked apart as well with the B12 getting the best leftovers). There will be big drop between the B12 and the P2 but the B12 will still make a few bucks and be marketable. Those conferences below the B12 will be the orphans playing in their own playoff system.

This is depressing for a kid from the south.

The West Coast I would imagine feel the same way. Hope that GOR holds up with the oncoming storms that lay ahead.

Yeah I don't know how the super conferences can retain the same feel.  It seems really bad or catastrophic for the product.  All for ad revenue models that are outdated.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
