That only works if new teams are guaranteed to generate that much money. In your case, USF would be worth $50 million but would only take $20M so the rest can be used for uneven payouts. I just don't think that's realistic.

So you think the Big12 new line up can be worth 50 million per team but an ACC lineup that includes USF wouldn’t be worth as much?

The value increase for the league wouldn’t come from the additions, it comes from the fact that under current contract the league is undervalued and the adding of schools isn’t done for increase value but to open the contract to a look in on the league value.

Winning cures all. That’s how programs like Utah and UCF (ugh) got to the P5. Unfortunately, I don’t think our current head coach know how to do that which is incredibly saddening.

Boise State says "not so fast, my friend."Winning was the driving impetus in that expansion but still remains to be seen what will drive the next, if there is one.

The New Big 12 is shuffling money around for the end of the current contract. The exit fee for OU and UT is 2 years of payouts, coincidentally the same amount of time that the new teams will be in the conference while riding out the existing contract. The Big 12 is using the 2 shares of payouts from OU and UT to pay the 4 new teams a half share each.

There's still only so much value that ESPN is willing to give up. I don't see them willingly let the ACC renegotiate their contract because it's very favorable for ESPN as is.

Signed, Rutgers…..

Lol Rutgers is literary the birthplace of college football (tradition), located in the largest TV market in the United States, provides an opportunity for Michigan and OSU fans in NYC to go watch their teams live, with no other “competitive” CFB team anywhere near it besides maybe Syracuse who also sucks.

Compare that with USF who has never won anything, lacks tradition, and is seriously struggling in fan support in a TV and news market already dominated and controlled by FSU and UF.

Some of us are stuck in 2007 but right now we’re literary at the level of FAU and possibly even worse.

Obviously things could change for the better but under the current leadership (beginning with MK and his rewarding of failure), it does not seem likely.

Regardless, go bulls.

I was talking about the upcoming Big12 contract that so many are saying 50 million per team.

As for the ACC/ ESPN contract, as I keep repeating, not saying it will happen but  as the ACC commissioner said they are discussing every option with ACC and one way according to contract to relook at conference value is adding schools.

Bottom line is the ACC needs extra money and ESPN does benefit from controlling ALL of ACC rights until 2036

Would they benefit from ACC breaking up prior to 2036 and sending ND and other ACC teams to BigTen?

Looks like each Big 12 team just got 35 million in TV revenue. Losing Texas/OU and adding  BYU + 3 G5's makes me think that number is going down, not going up 43%...I think a lot of Big 12 fans are underestimating how much 2 blue bloods leaving matters to the casual fans and therefore TV networks.

Most casual fans I know may watch Texas vs Kansas State, but they aren't watching Texas Tech vs Kansas State.

Oh I totally agree. But is funny to hear many that think ACC can’t get 50 million per team , turn around and talk about Big12 getting that.

As I said, not saying it would happen, but is the only shot USF has at going to ACC. Our most likely target is Big 12

And absolutely winning is a big driver, but as proven by Boise it isn’t the only driver in expansion

ESPN already controls the ACC through 2036 at a favorable rate. This is an issue for the ACC teams but not ESPN.

For the Big 12, the $50M estimate comes from the estimates Navigate put out and won't be reached until 2028. Also worth noting that the $50M per team is total payout that also includes CFP money, NCAA credits, bowl money, etc, not just the media deal.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
