For sure, but winning games, conference titles, playing on NYD sure as hell can’t hurt. The three schools from the AAC who moved to the B12 did all of these things. USF however is banking on location (which is a debatable importance since the fan base is UF and FSU) and academics.

Of course it can't hurt, but if there's no way we can magically do that in time for this round, if there is more, so we have to bank on location, academics, potential, etc. This coming year's results is a non factor in this round of expansion ....

100% AGREE! Those three schools also filled their stadiums and followed their teams to other stadiums. I think it all matters in the expansion conversations. Of course winning consistently will probably solve all those problems.

That doesn't explain UCLA... better than USF, sure... but if on field success was important it should be USC and Oregon going to the Big Ten.

It would be a small fee consistory have never played a down for them.

I don’t think that is as big as many people think. You want a team that has actually won something and can be competitive right away as well.

I know it hasn't been this way recently, but USF has defeated quite a few ACC teams historically.  FSU, Miami, Clemson, UNC, NCState, Pitt, Syracuse.  Maybe that counts for something.

I have to respectively disagree with you on that. This year is vitial in my opinion. If this team falls hard they will lose even more interest from the community (if thats possible). Location means nothing if no one cares.

For sure the handful of big moments we have had cannot hurt. But in this game of expansion most people outside of USF don't even remember those games. I would submit, based on attendance and interest that most USF "fans" don't remember. The better play is to win and win now to show that the program has some relivancy in the hear and now.

So if further expansion happens in the next couple months, do you think we get upgraded?

My opinon? No, I do not think we do. Or, at least I have seen no signs that it is warrented "yet." That is why I have been saying USF is better off if the expansion train slows down for a few years. That will give us time to solidfy infrastructures and improve on the field.

Oh, forgot GT.  That counts, too.  Thankfully we had that guy Horn who could run back kicks and score TDs.

But yes, I agree that its ancient history.  Us old Bulls fans are like Al Bundy still recalling his high school days at Polk high--4 touchdowns in one game.  We need to start winning now--people have short attention spans.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
