SEC doesn't really NEED another Florida school. Texas and OU gave it new markets. Maybe to keep FSU from the Big Ten, that makes sense. Or to own the powerful rivalries (USC/clem, FSU/UF) Maybe. 

UNC or VaTech give them new markets.

You make a good point.  SEC doesn't need anything. They are set with what they have.

If Stewart Mandel is right in his reply ... it could be the factor driving the Pac 12 to merge with the Big 12.

I got a feeling that may happen. I don’t know about every school (cal and Stanford probably not), but the numbers are interesting.

Well, I guess all USF can do at this point is dominate the bottom half of college football until we get called up to the bigs.

The way I see this playing out is that the top schools of the PAC and B12 will merge into a 12 - 14 team new conference. The new arrivals and teams not pulling their weight will be left behind. So out of the PAC I see Arizona, Utah, Oregon, Washington, Stanford, and one other merging with OSU, Kansas, Baylor, Texas Tech, and two other B12 schools (Probably K State and Iowa St.) leaving the rest to fend for themselves.
