Jim Donnan names four teams that he says are likely joining the SEC and others potentially in the mix.

CBSSports writer says it "silly" that SEC is negotiating with 4 ACC teams

 

But then goes on to clarify that the SEC "doesn't negotiate, it invites", again FWIW. Another writer responds admitting that may be true but that ESPN is the one doing the negotiating. 

 

Will probably be Clemson & FSU to the SEC.

Sounds like the ACC/Pac12 thing ain't gonna happen.  Of course the ESPN administrators don't have to tell the ESPN reporters what's going on... and likely wouldn't.

Still if that falls through that could be better for USF, as it puts the Pac 12 on shakier ground - with the only real options being: accept their fate, adding two MWC teams and getting less $$ per team, raiding the Big 12 for the best possible value, or have 4-6 teams depart and join the Big 12.

The Pac-12 has basically convinced the four schools being courted to slow down and see what the numbers look like on a potential ACC partnership before they make any decision. "Everyone is kind of waiting," an industry source said.

It is not so easy, I have tried to rally behind my kids schools, Texas A&M who will be able to buy the best players now,  Texas Tech is great in Hoops.  I follow them, watch them, cheer for them but I can’t shake USF even though I have tried.  They still provide the most pleasure, however more often the most displeasure, the other successes from these programs just don’t provide me the same level of excitement and engagement.  I guess it is like Herpes, you can never truly shake it, it may go into remission but you have it until you take a dirt nap.  2007 was a great lay, now I am simply left with the memories and the blisters.

A little pattern I've noticed it seems like the SEC and Big ten are picking off the programs they want in pairs. The only conference so far too pick up four teams is the Big 12 and that was purely out of survival. I think if the SEC raided the ACC they will go after Clemson and FSU only. Then the SEC will own Clemson South Carolina and Florida Florida State rivalries.
