Ok I see the difference now. So why would ESPN want to implode the ACC would they have such a great deal set up now? I would think if they ran the numbers it would be better to keep the status quo versus busting it up.

We will know what ESPN wants by what ends up happening next. It was just a rumor that they were trying to get 4 to the SEC. They may love the deal they have with the ACC at this point and just let it be. Or, they may take 4 from the ACC and move them to the SEC and then rework a deal with the ACC/PAC and have an exclusive stranglehold on all but the B1G and Notre Dame.

Best case scenario for us.... We replace FSU... I can see Miami pulling the plug on the ACC if they lose the TV deal

I see ECU as a possibility for UNC

I would add them, but they don't have as much History as a Rutgers to keep moving up conferences even though they suck.

Maybe I’m naive, but I don’t believe much else if anything is happening. I don’t mind the rumors and discussion - obviously, I’m participating in this thread - I just don’t believe any of this.

Nobody saw USC/UCLA going to the B1G. And I don’t think anyone will see the next move coming. Everything on social media at the moment is post-news posturing to pick up new followers. People are just trying to benefit from recent realignment interest, and are relying on BS to do so.

ESPN Loses big time if they break up the ACC. That will necessitate Notre Dame leaving and going to the fox controlled B10 (or stay independent under a new restructured deal with NBC) and more than likely some of the other schools will simply go to the B12. It’s my opinion that the ACC will stay the way it is for now.

You might very well be correct. I didn't see ESPN's motivation to tamper with what they have in the ACC, but the rumors persist. However, if they thought that the GoR was in jeopardy and that the B1G/Fox might try to beat them to the punch, I could maybe see them making moves. I hope they do, as that seems to be our only hope at this point short of the PAC raiding the Big 12, which is looking less and less likely.

Even if the ACC is broken up by ESPN, I am not so sure that USF will even find a place. Those schools could simply go to the big 12 and have a best of the rest conference themselves. Other than possibly Wake Forest and one or two other schools, I’m sure the big 12 would be interested.

I feel the IPF and OCS does 95% of that... Hopefully anyway

If this happens ESPN would screw USF for a second time.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
