The kind of rumors that at least I was looking for were the kind that come from insiders WHO DO NOT HAVE THE AUTHORIZATION TO RELEASE INFORMATION OFFICIALLY. Have you heard of those? Anything else, IMO, is a waste of time.

Most of the posts on this board are a "waste of time". The most mundane issues usually turn into an urination contest.

Are there rules to that contest ?

I retired from competition a few months ago. I am now a spectator only. :)

I am just glad I have high speed internet. I'd be more pissed than Ralphie in A Christmas Story after decoding his secret ring message if I had dial up and it took as long as it used to do when downloading webpages just to read some of these responses. :P

I'd be willing to bet some folding green that the ESPNsider article says the same thing as Dave Ubben said in this

DU: Interesting suggestion, Jaxon. It works on some levels, but I don't really buy it. If you're going to dig into Florida, I think you only do it for a home run, i.e. Florida State. I wouldn't take a risk on a team that is so far out of your footprint and doesn't have a lot of proven success on the field, though the formula to do that is there with its location and size. TCU was a little different because a) The Big 12 absolutely needed a new member, and b )  its proximity and history and likely future growth outweighed its small size and poor facilities (outside of a new football stadium and baseball stadium). I could see a world in which USF works as a Big 12 member, but it's risky, and not worth rolling the dice. The risk far outweighs the reward, and it's hard to see USF truly becoming one of the best two programs in Florida consistently, Big 12 membership or otherwise. The league should jump at any opportunity to land Florida State, but USF would give me reason for pause. "

You don't think he's reversed his opinion, do you (USF a possibility in that world of pure imagination) ? That's the thing about the blogosphere...you can get pretty much the same information from multiple sources, so Florida_Bull's post above is probably the same material, just a few sentences rearranged. Mainly on account of "hard to see USF truly becoming one of the best TWO programs in Florida consistently".

This is probably true, but since its a "new" topic it may or may not have some different content.

Not to mention, being a stand-alone article makes it more than just a reader's question. It also allows for comments...

At the risk of "posting paid content", they posed the question there and the "insider" content was exactly that, Ubben's response to a mail question. That's ESPN Insider for ya

@theDudeofWV: As it looks right now FSU is 100% certain destined for the B1G. Plan for AAU membership was to placate Michigan.

@theDudeofWV: Michigan, Ohio State & Wisconsin comprise the subcommittee that will review FSU’s plan.

@theDudeofWV: When the 2014 season kicks off the FSU Seminoles will be members of the B1G.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
