The BIG PAC (twelve)!

If these six join it could still be the Big 12 (states instead of teams): Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, West Virginia, Ohio, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Oregon, & Washington.

I can't keep up with all the rumors and whatnot.

But gawd I wish the ACC would call us up.

This is basically my stance.  I just want us in a semi-regional setup with some good teams.  I know that is too much to ask these days.

I just can't see how the B12 would be a benefactor in any of this. The Big 12 is not in a position to be the aggressor and poach the Pac12 if the rest of the Pac 12 stays in tact. Very reminiscent of when the AAC went after Big 12 programs when Texas and Oklahoma left and the B12 facepalmed the AAC and pulled off a reverse-raid 😂.

I agree with you, but the schools that B12 is talking to make geographical sense. I can’t see West Virginia ending up in a west coast conference, but I can see Arizona and Colorado in the Big 12.

This is a terrible scenario for us and I can’t believe how lucky Cincy, Houston, and ucf got!

Yup MHver who has been all over the place lol. I guess he is bound to be right one of these days lol

That's his schtick. He throws out every scenario under the sun and then when something happens, he goes "yep, just like I said" 🙄

I wonder how long we will have to wait before actual real news.

If geographic consideration of are any importance to anyone, ignoring the island WVU is already on and UCLA and USC are creating for themselves, why would the BIG12 take just the schools that make sense from the PAC10 but the PAC10 would take everything from the B12 and then have this problem of geography? Whatever conference ends up with the best sum of parts after picking off the others is the one that ultimately will form. Sometimes it’s not about what you get to add but what you get to lose.

While everyone is expecting chaos, I think in the near term maybe the following happens:

- PAC-12 sticks together and replaces USC and UCLA with the two best Big XII schools that are embarrassed to be in the same conference as UCF and BYU (I’m thinking UK and OSU)

- Big XII replaces UK and OSU with USF and Memphis

- ND finally joins the B10 but otherwise the B10 stops expanding

- Only way any ACC teams leave is for SEC or B10 money (due to GoR), but neither is expanding any further

Just my musings, which may be right or wrong. No sources…

That is certainly the most boring option, so it may be the most likely.  Would we get more money to milk for a few years in that scenario?  Could we siphon that money to get the stadium up and running then rebrand for the next realignment wave?

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
