It's scary that even a small portion of our fanbase doesn't get this. I shall not opine here as to where this dangerous outlook spawned from ....

theDudeofWV is just as in the know as MHVer, which is to say not at all. Another WV clown throwing s*** at the wall to see what sticks

I just find it hilarious that after all of these years of failures, it is still the same dudes tweeting about conference expansion.

And, yes, I understand I am on here again.  In the same thread on conference expansion.  Don't @ me.

I will admit I follow MHVer on Twitter, but mainly to see what nonsense he's floating out there for others to gobble up blindly. Not once have I ever read something he put out there (that wasn't put out by somebody credible first) and thought "Yeah, that actually might happen"

If this is what the Big 12 is gonna do... BIG IF... then maybe the AAC should invite Oregon State, Washington State, Stanford, and Cal... plus some MWC teams (SDSU, UNLV, Fresno St, SJSU?) ... and form another national conference.

If

The race is on to be the best of the rest. Whichever conference can snag the main schools from the PAC will position themselves well. You want to be in a position where if you lose 4 schools to the B1G or SEC your conference can still thrive. I really wish we were in the Big 12 right now. It is looking more and more likely that we are going to be forced to languish in the AAC for the next 14 years, at a minimum.

Hope we aren’t stuck. Not helping our football team hasn’t been good.

assuming that source is credible. PAC12 with Oregon and Washington > Big12 as is, so not sure why teams would leave to Big 12. This almost just seems like nothing happens after the USC/UCLA moves

He's just another twitter guy who loves throwing spaghetti at the wall whenever expansion is happening. It never sticks. That being said, Oregon and Washington being better than anyone in the new Big 12 ironically may be the reason the Big 12 could be in the better position right now. Everyone wants to be in the new Big 2, but Oregon and Washington seem to have the best odds of the remaining PAC 12 and Big 12 teams. So rather than let them decide the fate of the PAC 12, the 4 corner schools can get ahead of it and just give themselves a stable home in a 16 team Big 12.

This maybe true, but the new B12 will still be the weakest P4 conference, which will still have them unstable. I think the only “stable” conferences are the BIG10 and SEC, all others are open to shuffling. Until the musical chairs stop, everyone else is second fiddle. The sad part of it is that college football is dead; all rivalries, student athletes, traditions, mean nothing. Everything that was special about college football has been corrupted and destroyed.

If the Big12 expands to 18 vs 16 that might improve of chances.  Once they go past 16 it opens the door for a larger super conference of 20 or more teams.  When you consider the 18 teams that are rumored you have UCF very much on an island.  Maybe the UCF / USF travel partner / rivalry will play into the discussions more after the 6 PAC 12 teams join.  We could be part of the eastern pod with UC, WV, UCF, UM, USF considering a USF / Memphis expansion.  I’m sure the networks want eastern time zone teams so we add value in this area too.  Maybe this will be the next play after the 6 PAC 12 teams are secured.
