Why are yal talking about the Big10? Thats def not gonna happen. Ever! And we are at least about 20% increase in grad rates and a couple of hundreds of millions in endowment before we would even be considered for AAU lol

Slick, if we DO move will you resign from posting here for an entire year?

You mean like you should after posting that Skip was going to resign?  According to your source.  Bwhaaaaaaaaaaahahahaha. Its one thing to not believe fan generated nonsense about USF going to whatever Power 5 conference but to claim to have sources? You crack me up.

This thread should be put in the HOF:

Hem is a Fraud

Just for fun, I went back and read the "fraud" thread you linked to above ... here's what you said on that thread:

>.

Why is this thread, a personal attack on a TBP member not deleted? Hem was passing on what he said was second hand info. He didn't say that he himself had talked to Holtz and wrote his resignation speech.

You defended Hem there, but now you've done a 180 and you're attacking him for what he heard and posted. Why the hypocrisy, Slick?

Because since then, I've found Hem, and you, to be turds. Simple enough?

I still say USF isn't going anywhere. Every time I read something here, its more and more outlandish. Texas to the ACC?

Talk to a fan who watches football. Half of them confuse UCF with USF. And these are SEC fans who watch all the time. That #2 for a week ranking has wore off along with the crazy sideline antics of USF's former head coach. Maybe the notoriety of hiring Petrino would have helped gotten USF more attention and helped the cause. But then again, the powers that be probably don't want him coaching in their conference, he's seen as a liability.  I think time, lots of it, are the only chance for USF to get into a power conference. Reality sucks but its part of growing up.

Where does this come from? Is it a case of "if I say it enough times it will come true"? Slick is right that it is going to take a long, long time for USF to be < #65.

As of now we're playing in the No Official Name Conference - and we will be for some time. BE basketball has packed up and moved on, taking the neon sign with it.

I think, if there were a market for USF, we'd have heard by now, and that message would have come from something/someone other than a message board. So,

get ready for the big SMU or Tulane games...we'll be seeing lots of those over the next decade.

And I'm fine with it.

To me, as much as some hate to admit it, I think we are in a conference with similar academic institutions, roughly in the same geographic area and hopefully now, will begin to shine in this conference, whatever in the hell it will be called.

I agree, have no choice really. But I feel that SMU, UConn, and of course Navy, are on a better level academically though.

I think that some of you need to re-read the title of this thread. I currently work in an ever changing organization. There was a rumor that my entire department was soon going to report to a certain person. I spoke to that person, because a crazy rumor was spreading like wild fire. No way it was going to happen, not in a million years. Last Wednesday my soon to be new director was told that he's getting another entire department. The rumor was spot on. Not saying that anything that's been mentioned here, or anywhere on the web is going to happen. But stranger things have happened. Texas to the ACC is possible, USF to the BIG is possible, FSU to the SEC is possible. They are all "rumors" "tweets" "etc"

No matter what conference we are in, as long as I am able, I will continue to support USF.

Good post.  It IS a "rumor" thread.  It remains to be seen whether or not there is any fire to all this smoke.  Not holding my breath, but I'll never say "impossible" to any scenario.

Fantasy would be more appropriate than rumor because all these "rumors" are coming from forums and blogs, not accepted new sources or insiders leaking info. Also speculation and theory isn't rumor either. This has become a speculation and debate on merits thread.

And that's the nut right there. Embracing the possible, because the probable is less inviting. Sure Texas could join the ACC, much in the same way as Oregon could move to the SEC. All things are possible when there are no governors. I'm fine with being in CUSA 2.0. Doesn't bother me (whistling past the graveyard). We probably should never have been in the BE to being with.

But what is the benefit in relentlessly redrawing maps and what-if scenarios with little or no ground in reality? If we're in CUSA 2.0, for the next ten years, does this thread actually have that lifespan?

Maybe...just maybe...it's therapeutic. Maybe Texas to the ACC, Oregon to the SEC and USF to the B1G is how some people cope with the new and not very much improved lot in life? Maybe, instead of spewing bile over our new seating arrangement, this is the medicine they need?

'Cause you know...we are talking POSSIBLE....not probable.  :FIREdevil:

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
