I have heard from three separate news sources that FSU to SEC, and USF/UCF to Big12 is all but a done deal... could be a rumor on one hand, or it could be the most awesome **** ever.

I have heard from three separate news sources that FSU to SEC, and USF/UCF to Big12 is all but a done deal... could be a rumor on one hand, or it could be the most awesome **** ever.

 

However just for violation and grins, what happens to our $$ if we leave... do we forfeit all of that dough we just got?

 

First, I'm sure everyone here would love to see your sources.

 

Second, if we get lucky enough to head off to the Big 12, how much do we really care about forfeiting that money?  Wouldn't we make that up in about a year over there?

Why should we have to forfeit any money? Those that weren't there before think that they should get some.

I don't know who/where Bubba's "news sources" are, but on BlueGoldnews.com there a few that think pretty highly of us. Two in particular SoonerLawyer29 and TampaFlJayhawk. They both are/were trying to explain to people that USF is not a commuter school. In the grand scheme of things it means nothing, but it's nice to see.

As long as unnamed sources speaking on the condition of anonymity from an undisclosed location are indicating that there was a possible post on another message board...well, shucks...that's good enough for me. So, I'm guessing that when Uncle Doug talks about 'rebranding', he's alluding to the impending move to the Gran Doce, si? That D-Dub's a clever boy. I thought he was talking about just the university...no idea he was giving a sneak-peak at the down card. So, I'm personally gonna hold off on buying any USF/AXII gear, with that Big 12 move in place. I got enough USF/CUSA, USF/BE stuff to last a lifetime.

With luck, in about 20 or 30 years, USF will be where most fans think (wish) they should be in now. Until then it would be nice for the fan base to face reality. USF would be in a Power 5 conference now if they were wanted and the scenarios that people keep dreaming up to get USF into one now would mean that conference would be CUSA 3.0 and no longer a power conference.

Don't give a **** about 30 years from now as I am probably dead. They need to keep pushing for the ACC every day, every waking hour.

That's the point. Stop dreaming and live in reality. Might as well close this thread as USF isn't going anywhere no matter how much the fan base wants it. The people that matter most on this issue, the school presidents in the Power 5, could care less about USF.

I would love the Big 12 taking us. But as a pair UCF/USF just got a TV contract that pays $2 mil a year. How do we increase the Big 12's bottom line?

It's jut not happening at this point. THe ACC? IF they're raided, there would be a good chance of that happening.
