I had to look it up on Wikipedia, because I couldn't remember how the name came about. Weirdly, it's UCF that said, "yeah, don't bring the trophy, we really don't want to do this."

I have always advocated for and  promoted this great rivalry.

Maybe the B12 is waiting for our official OCS announcement before they offer? Seems sketchy, but I'll take it if that's the case. Slight glimmer of hope, maybe.

They did have those concerns about Memphis and the stadium they play in. I believe they are going to do large scale update on stadium in lieu of building on campus?? Of course, Memphis has their money guy-Fed Ex boss, grad $$$

Personally I am hoping it’s Rice and UAB and that’s it. Save the spots for a B12 meltdown or perhaps a merge of MWC down the line. Regardless, keep the options open.

Yes.  Sometimes less is more.

I am guessing there is pressure for more teams just to be able to have a championship game. Do you know how much cash the conference actually gets for having a championship game?  I was just wondering about it's necessity given the Big East did not have one. The AAC championship game is not like some of the other conference championship games which you can see generate a truckload of cash.

Oh for sure, USF is mentioned in many articles I have read. The perspective is that we would be a travel partner with those bastards in Orlando, Memphis would be a travel partner for West Virgina, and Boise with BYU.

By golly Mr NEB...as I've said before(somewhere-sometime) You my friend are very very Cerebral MoFo

In terms of broadcast money I don’t think the conference gets anything extra (a part of the conference tv deal) for the game itself other than exposure on ABC. It is possible I suppose if they get a jump in viewership.

Let’s say we add those two to get to 10 teams. Then the B12 melts down with the hateful 8 getting snatched up. Out of the 4 remaining teams, how many and who would we add? My vote is add two, and make it Cincy and UH. BYU is too far and UCF can suck it.

Well I suppose we would add none as those in the AAC would actually go to the Big12 due to a more recognizable brand. But yes, I am all for telling ucf to suck it on everyday that ends in a y. 😀😀

Well, it was USF's idea, I believe.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
