@Bull Nut But if fragments survived, like in the Big East debacle, it's another notch down - whether we are in it or not.  Talk of P6 goes away COMPLETELY.  It's the brutal world of CFB.  People keep talking about Mr. Kelly.  He might have the toughest job in the history of USF.  That Prez that just retired,  :nope:

If the AAC loses Cincy, UCF, Houston, and Memphis no one outside of the Sun Belt and C-USA will be looking to join, and even then, I'm not sure I would.

Navy would likely go back to Independent. That would leave SMU, USF, Tulsa, Temple, Tulane, and ECU. There aren't 5 teams you could bring on that would add any value to the conference.

If Bowlsby is out for blood and Aresco took his shot and missed this could get really ugly for us.

Dropping you pants at the first sign of interest is a fantastic negotiating tactic...  Let's use history as an example. I'd say TCU's lack of shortsightedness worked out pretty well over the past decade, they had the foresight to not embark on sinking ship.  I know I'm setting myself up for disappointment but I also hope the AAC teams being considered aren't short-sighted and/or desperate.

Texas Christian University, which had already pledged to join the Big East...

They lucked out with A&M and Mizzou going to the SEC opening up a golden opportunity to be part of the Big 12 with natural close rivals from the Old SWC.  This was a no brainer and I am not sure what the hell this has to do with your point.  If UCF or Cincy got an invite to the Big 10/ACC after committing to the Big 12 they would bail as well.

His point is he is afraid that we may be left behind so everyone should go against their self interest and band together, I mean it worked for our package deal with UCF so there is no way it shouldn’t work with an entire conference of teams with zero allegiance or history together

You kind of proved my point.

I came in late and may have missed yours, either way every man for themselves, that we agree with.

Your point is that you should take whatever best option you have in front of you at the moment because it doesn’t prevent you from then taking a better offer if it presents itself and if anything having more conferences want you increases your value? Then yes we agree not moving up anytime it’s an option is dumb.

The fact that you would rather see us in a lower conference than our current is mind boggling. We'll have to agree to disagree.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
