I do see the 2 most likely scenarios as more positive than than the grim thought of UCF leaving us behind:

Scenario 1 (most likely): A few more remaining Big 12 teams end up jumping to other conferences too. WVU/OK State/Kansas/etc. The remaining 4-6 teams just add BYU and the top 7-8 teams from the AAC. We're included in this.

Scenario 2: No Big 12 teams get invites, but they want to hold firm until they get their money from Texas and Oklahoma. That happens after about a year or 2. In that scenario we have a year or 2 to improve our standing and make ourselves more attractive.

I’m not an expert on conspiracy theories but I’m pretty sure redacting things does more to fuel them than it does to quell them.
