This was cover for them when they each take teams from the Big 12. They don't want to be accused of trying to ruin/consolidate college football. They also all wanted to be on the same page on the teams they would poach from the Big 12 and what each conference's long-term plans would be. It's also a message to the SEC that they will work together to make sure the SEC doesn't make overtures towards their top programs. Finally, it's a message to their media partners that they will be willing to work together in an effort to enhance their media rights deals.

How do people think making an argument that the B12 is going to be like another BigEast once the money dries up is a legitimate argument for not leaving the BigEast? It’s still going to end up in better shape long term and has more immediate benefits as well as a better branding. Want to know the fastest way to making more money? Switch companies.

But it would be great for UCF to join the Big12 only to have Baylor, TCU, TT and the rest move to the AAC.  That I would vote for!
