No one is lying.  There is little doubt that Aresco knows the AAC will either win big, lose big, or maintain some sort of equilibrium as the "best of the rest" when all is said and done.  So he is being proactive.

Is he having conversations with B12 schools?  Absolutely not.  He has conversations with his friend who does not directly work with the AAC, who has conversations with the other schools and with ESPN.  He can say uncategorically that he has not spoken to any other schools.  In the highly unlikely event this ever goes to trial, he can again say he did not have contact with other schools.  He barely knew the guy having conversations.  He was once a coffee at the golf club.

But it won't ever come to a trial, because by the time we get to that point all the negotiations will be done.  The schools will have their money, and they won't want any of the dirty laundry coming out.  And the B12 or AAC will likely be dead anyway.

It is a dance.  There is absolutely no doubt someone is having conversations with the AAC and ESPN.  Just like their are conversations between the B12 and some AAC schools already happening.  All with deniability, but ESPN is throwing its weight around also.

Exactly. This is why there are search committees when Universities select presidents.

The only teams that have value from big 12 are OSU and KU at best. Crap shoot otherwise.

KU's value isn't in FB.

WVU has much more value in that regard.

WVU finds itself in a very strange position.

It's never been an academic juggernaut.

Attendance in declining.

State population is declining.

It will be interesting to see what options they have in the future.

Suggestions:  Couch burning, strip mining and marrying your sister.  I actually like WV - the State.

I loved having WVU in our conference for the few years we had them.  Great games.  Their fans travel well, too.

Trip is there a way to find out how many Active Board members are still posting in this thread and what is the post count?

Going to page 1 is like going in the wayback machine seeing all the posters of days past.

Went back and read through some of those first pages.  Looks like the last 100+ i have seen have been copied from 1-10 lol. Same **** just different names.

Time wise it’s almost impossible for a conference to have its own playoffs. Right now if there is a 12 team playoffs many conferences will start to eliminate the conference championship games.

We must make it work.  It would be groovy.

This was a loss for sure.  There was some legit heat and some crazy wins and losses with implications.

WV might be the only place to hide from the NSA Google Hunter/Killer drones in the near future.
