You are correct in terms of P5. But there are four very good reasons to go forward in my opinion. First, it would almost guarantee the AAC would get the NYD game every year (a few more $ for USF). Second, it would create a stronger sixth conference (and in terms of strength would rival the PAC12 some years) and if the playoffs go to 8 it would give us a better chance. Third, better bowl games could be in play later. Fourth, more $ are possible for TV but that would be much later down the line.
