It is death, in that it lessens our chances to ever gain national football relevance again. Listen I get it - you got spolied with us getting to #2 within 10 years of having a program and you want the P5 invite hand delivered and access to the playoffs every year.

Unfortuantely, those days are over we now have to think strategically and it may take several moves perfectly executed to only increase those chances. You want guarentees before you back a plan - there are no guarentees. But keep being a nay-sayer if it makes you feel better, but its people who think like you that have created the situation we are in.

On my opinion you are completely correct. Sitting around hoping for a P5 invite is a loser mentality. It is highly unlikely that there is going to be any teams who are G5 that will move to P5 as the money and value is simply not there. We must take our own action and this has to be a best of the rest conference. Unfortunately no one has the nuts to do this. It will take one college president to step out and be a leader but I don’t get a vibe any exist. Time will tell.

Totally agree. We are never going to get into the P5, so the next best solution is to find a way to make the P6 a reality. But we are being led by people who think that doing nothing is a solution, and we have a board full of neophytes that agree.

P6 is never going to be a reality, the music stopped and we didn’t and probably will never have a chair.  However this Neophyte likes your idea, what have we got to lose besides the short term loss of some cash by adding a few more teams to our conference, (maybe we can make it up in admissions fees)

It already is a reality .... I've seen the stickers and sideline markers.

I asked you this many pages ago but never saw an answer so I'll try again. What incentive will the P5 ever have to add a conference to their brotherhood?

"We" meaning who?

This is pretty close to what I've been saying but Bry keeps twisting it. If you want to do it, do it, I just don't see it being the end all of alls to our future .... and don't tell me if we don't expand, we're doomed. There's nothing to support that. Our football relevancy will hinge upon winning conferences, current or expanded, and NY6 bowl games, along with some splash ooc wins.

Yep we died when BC and Cuse left the Big East and was dissolved.  You can’t die twice, we are in purgatory with neither Heaven or Hell in our future so let’s make the most of it and win a **** conference championship

Agreed. Let’s finally win one...lord knows we have all waited so long...it was Cuse and Pitt not BC. BC was already gone when we joined.

Yep, I guess after all these years of trying to forget, I finally did forget.

But they play everyone in the conference to get around the rule...we can’t do that because we need the P5 games.

Thank you. I knew there had to be something more to it.

I think it is pretty clear that there is going to be another round of realignment/expansion somevtime this decade.

I feel more confident that we will be better positioned with CJS and MK this time.

Why not us, we would be as good a choice as any.

Curious why do you think it is “pretty clear” that is the case. The smart money would disagree with that statement if you are saying a G5 school will move to P5 status.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
