Take football only Air Force, Boise and Army and be done with it. 14 football schools and 11 olympic. That’s a true AMERICAN conference.

That's a murica I can get behind.

Army will never join a conference again. They left C-USA because they were concerned their players were getting too beaten up. I like Air Force, San Diego State, Boise State, Colorado State and one other MWC team if we could in turn dump Tulane and Tulsa and level out at 14, but the only way to do that is to go form a new conference which wouldn't be the worst idea.

This would be ideal, but I still want to keep Tulane (definately not Tusla).  I love me some New Orleans for game trips.  I've done it with the Bucs and Bulls, and now that the Saints are really good, the tickets are almost impossible to get for a reasonable price.

Take Boise, SDSU, & Air Force

West: Boise, SDSU, AF, Houston, SMU, Memphis, Tulsa

East: Cinci, Navy, Temple, USF, C., ECU, Tulane

If you're feeling really bold also add BYU (west) and AP State (east) to get to 16.

Reduces travel among divisions,  with a true east and west division, gives you more teams ranked throughout the year. BOOM done!

Like this idea with the exception of:  Replace Tulsa with Colorado State and we are set!

Memphis in the east makes more sense than Tulane.

I like it except for the part about getting to 16. If we add more team I'd want to see Tulane and Tulsa dumped.

I agree, 16 is too many.  12 or 14 is optimum.

You guys are throwing out and adding teams like you are playing a game of monopoly. The one small, tiny detail you all are forgetting is...MONEY!!!! This is all exercise in futility unless ESPN is willing to pay another $28 mil per year to add four more teams to the AAC. In fact it may be more than that if the new MW teams will want more $ to cover transportation. Because the contract is for 12 years you are talking a MINMUM of $336 million to add the teams over the lifetime of the contract. Further, there is $40 mil in total buyout by these teams which will have to be done in three to five years. You want BYU (which is highly unlikely)? Then you are talking close to another $100 mil over the life of the contract.

Not saying it wound not happen, but ESPN will have to crunch these large numbers to see if there is a payoff.

Please stop with the APP State BS. You want to add a team what was FCS not but 5 years ago and who's market overlaps ECU. REALY??????? Freaking get a clue. I second the above by NEB, it's not that simple a process. If there will be a team added, most likely it will be a single team because the money is already there. If there are to be more teams, it will be under an entirely different contract. That all takes time and money.

PS: Nobody knows if ESPN is even interested.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
