In the dog eat dog world of conference expansion where if you aren’t growing you are dying it just maybe, at least I have to believe that to sleep at night

Be a large university, with a large student population and rapidly growing alumni base in a large and desirable tv market in one of the largest and most desirable states while being one of three institutions in the state with preeminence status (the other two are already in the P5) while being one of the only three schools left that were BCS that were left out of the P5. Other than that not much I guess.

Not knowing what's in the mind of the P5 powers and what the criteria will be if/when there is expansion, whether we're even the tallest midget in the minds of the decision makers is highly debatable ...... hopefully, we'll at least be among the tallest midgets if it happens.

We'll be in a bigger conference. It won't be the schools in the P5's choice, ESPN will have to force it in hopes of securing more TVs.

Perhaps but their basketball is something difficult to ignore. They are one of the few programs that could be taken for that alone.

Tell that to UConn.

KU owns Uconn relative to MBB history and status. KU is a blue blood Uconn is not. KU has Wilt Chamberlin, JoJo White, Paul Pierce, James  Naismith (the friggin inventor of the sport), Allen Fieldhouse, etc.

The biggest roadblock I see to inclusion in a power 5 conf is that we're left hoping that there are multiple schools promoted; there's probably 3 schools in our conference that have a leg up, with one not far away that can carry the Tampa market.  If the powers that be decide to bring up more than one school they may deem it better to look into adding Houston or Cincy in addition to a FL school instead of just bringing up two FL schools that are close enough to count as a quasi singular market.  At this current stage if only one FL school is promoted I don't see it being us unfortunately.

UCF can’t carry the Orlando market and you think they can carry Tampa?
