so if disney is buying fox, how is that going to affect realignment since they will then own espn and fox?

Its not all of FOX. Its only the Movies production, HULU rights, and Fox Regional sports. What is not on the table is FOX news, Local fox affiliates, Fox Sports One. The Murdochs are just shedding unwanted assets.

More importantly, it does mean that Marvel will get the X-men and Fantastic Four back!

It'll mean one less competitor bidding for the broadcast rights. Combined with cable-cutters, it will mean less money for all conferences. SEC/B10 TV revenue will drop 1%, ACC/P12 10%, B12 20%, and G5 will drop 50% plus.
