That would be two epic rivalries the B12 would be getting and a big Florida interest.  Not sure why they blew that decision.

We matched up well against WVU. Would love to see this rivalry reborn - as an OOC game though.

If the B12 offered, we couldn't turn down the $$, but I'd hate to be in that mid-south-west-podunk-town-league.

Their fans travel well which means more people in the seats for us and quality opponents.  I will take it. Also Big 12 is more a football conference than the ACC.  Yes you get Clemson VA tech Miami and Florida St. but you also have Duke NC state, Wake Forest,  NO thank you.

I'm stunned that anyone would prefer the Big 12 over the ACC.  The ACC is a better fit geographically and like you said, you get Miami, FSU, Clemson, and GT.  That is no small thing.

Above all the ACC is unrealistic.  We are pretty much a package deal with UCF and there is no way the NC schools that run the ACC would let their power become challenged with a block of 4 schools from FL in the conference.  Also, FSU and Miami wouldn't want us on equal footing for obvious reasons....

Except the ACC is never going to happen.  If they ever go to 16, it will be ND and one of UConn or Cincy.

I'd take the ACC any day over the on life-support B12. B12 would be a great short term payday but I don't see long term viability there. However you just can't turn down the payday.

I know this, but the poster made it seem that he would actually prefer the Big 12 over the ACC given an option.

Our friends in NC are WVU grads and fans. They hate being in the Big 12.  Small sample size but, other than the money, there is nothing in it for them. Can't get to any away games.
