That's a BIG Domino to fall (if true)... that said, a little chaos might be a very good thing for us. (As long as we keep winning, and stay out of trouble

Did you write this before or after our MBB was being investigated and 2 football players being arrested?  :stirpot:

Later today: B12 breaking up? By end of decade — counting LHN, media rights, NCAA Tournament, CFP — Texas will be approaching $60 million.

The AAC should be putting out invites to OSU, TCU, Baylor, WVU, Kansas, K-State, and Texas Tech right now.

Dodd wrote me back and said most likely 2025 is when the break-up would occur (If it happens), simply because the other schools don't have anywhere to go to make as much money.Have to hope somebody can pay Texas and OU a boatload of money to leave... That would shake things up for us.

 We have some time.

Yeah when all of these media contracts hit the end of their deal is when the next round of cataclysmic realignment will occur. I'm still in the belief the conferences as we know them will be shaken immensely and you will have a Super 4 with 64 teams in the "power." ESPN laying off employees seens to push for them to make smarter contract decisions; and those conference tv deals are going to burst.

The AAC might want to do that but I am not sure it would be in our best interest.

If the B12 breaks apart who gets the name?  Would we be slightly better shape being invited the the B12 rump league or adding those guys to our league with the likes of Tulane, SMU etc?

I don't see these team leaving until the big teams actually walk out the door.

The way I see it, we're on the bubble either way.

1, Texas and Texas Tech with go to the PAC. That is pretty much what I've though the entire time.

2, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State will go to the SEC. (Unless the Big 12 is promised to remain a Power conference. Then You may See the SEC take TCU instead of Oklahoma State).

3, The B1G will take Kansas and then UConn to balance out their conference so as not to split Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State.

4, The ACC will take Cincinnati and Navy (Football only).

This will leave;

1. WVU

2. TCU or Oklahoma State

3. Baylor

4, Kansas State

5, Iowa State.

They will add;

6, Houston.

7, If Oklahoma State remains, SMU. If TCU remains ?

8, USF

9, UCF.

10, Memphis.

11, ECU.

12, Temple.

13, Louisiana State.

14, Old Dominion

15, Arkansas state.

16, Georgia State (For the Atlanta market).

The Big 12 leftovers will not want to invite a small private outside of SMU.

Is this conference Power 5 worthy? I don't know. It has 5 teams that won 10 or more games last year. So theirs that at least.

Yeah, we'll be picked up by the B12 remnants way before OSU, TTech, WVU, etc come crawling to the aac.
