It's a basketball only addition. What is not to like? They are a basketball powerhouse.

This is a good addition. Solid hoops program and gets the conference to 12 basketball members.

I know it's probably not happening but can we please get out of this conference? Adding Wichita State in Olympic sports does absolutely nothing. We used to say realignment was about TV markets; I'm curious what TV market do they add exactly?

 

The answer is the 69th market coming in right ahead of Green Bay and Des Moines and 7 spots lower than Ft. Myers...

They are likely to be a top 10 basketball team next year. With practically their whole team coming back. If they make a deep run in the NCAA tournament the AAC could get some $$$$$$.

As I posted in another thread, WSU would have brought $24+ million with them the past 5 years if they were in the AAC. How much do you think USF has made the conference in that same amount of time?

If Wichita State does become a non-football member of the AAC, it will be a strong add for basketball as well as baseball. Just looking at their schedule they have played against some strong opponents this year (i.e. Oklahoma, LSU, Texas Tech) as well as in years past.

I like the proposed addition for basketball.  Back to the thread, it doesn't change our chances of getting out of the AAC.

I'd expect an announcement soon. The earlier they give notice, the more time they have to hash out their exit fees.
