Nebraska left the B12 because they hated being pushed around by Texas. Nebraska will leave the B10 when they hate money.

Texas doesn't want to do anything. They want to sit there and have people grovel over how awesome they are.

Actually that was a made up rumor by the dudeofwvu.  He even admitted it was a joke and someone bit on it.

Why is this not in the proper place?

From the number that I've seen Nebraska may have made more money in the Big 12 this year because they negotiated stepped plan to full payout. They will eventually make more and with the uncertainty of the Big 12 and the fact that nobody likes Texas, no way they go back to the Big 12 without people getting fired or a revolt.

Ah... this sounds strangely familiar. We may be a perfect fit. Seriously though I don't see why practicing against a spread offense has to lead to poor tackling. But, it does seem to be the case for a lot of teams. Some correlation if not causation.

But I’d like to offer up one alternative theory for the conference’s larger struggles that goes beyond respective talent: Has the conference’s near-universal move to hurry-up spread offenses had a negative effect? Texas’ and TCU’s continued defensive struggles under two long-proven defensive coaches, Charlie Strong and Gary Patterson, may be the strongest indicator yet that practicing against those offenses every day lends itself to “soft” defenses. Patterson made that change in 2014, Strong this season. Poor tackling and coverage busts have been a hallmark for Oklahoma, Texas Tech, West Virginia and Baylor for years.

It's weird. Aggies moved from Big12 had a lot success year 1 with Manziel at QB in a tough to stop spread. But now TAMU looks like a regular SEC team this year with a good defense and good (and underutilized) run game. It's like what works morphed to fit the conference. I don't get why the Big12 has no defense ever. Every game totals 80 points or more it seems.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
