I'll go out on a limb and say that "some guy on the AAC board" was just making up **** ................ until I see a Dodd quote from a reliable source.

McMurphy talked up a potential USF/UCF add for Big 12 on ESPN radio. Said Big 12 might want to pair both together. Said would be good for Big 12 to get into FL every year.

This is what McM said. Started out by talking UCF and then said B12 should pair USF and UCF. 

On UCF:  "Promising program. Sexy Florida program, can get into the state of Florida recruiting-wise. For a team that went 0-12 last year, they get a lot of buzz. The Orlando market obviously is a positive. That’s good. Negative: You’re kind of out on an island like West Virginia. It doesn’t help West Virginia to add UCF because it’s not really on the way to the other group of Big 12 schools. I really think the best chance for UCF to get in is if the presidents decide they want the Florida market. And then I think UCF and USF both have the best chance. … I would be surprised if they add just one of them. If you add both of them, you would guarantee one game in Florida every year, you would open up the Florida recruiting area to the whole Big 12, so I kinda pair them together.”

I can Imagine Temple = Philadelphia, UConn = NY City, USF = Tampa and UCF = Orlando. that's 45 million in state populations. Doesn't make it so.

If it wasn't helping this thread make it to 1K pages, I'd clamor for this drama to end quickly. This whole B12 is/B12 isn't adding new members reminds me of the ups & downs in the BE. If they'd have been more decisive from the get-go, I'd be more stoked about this possibility.

On what he's heard about specific schools:  “Some people think Houston is a lock to get in. Others I talk to say Houston’s not gonna get in and that all these politicians coming out and supporting Houston — they’re doing that so that they’ll be re-elected or so they won’t be blackballed down the road. I’ve been told they’re doing that because they know privately Houston won’t get in because either the private Texas schools will block them or the non-Texas schools in the Big 12 don’t want another Texas school in. A lot of people think Cincinnati’s got a good shot because they serve for that bridge to West Virginia. I talk to other people who aren’t that high on Cincinnati.”

I never liked Frank. His articles are biased and opinionated. Just like all bloggers, with it's own agenda. He purports himself to be clear, concise and balanced. He's not.

If the tweet doesn't appear in McMurphy's twitter account, I'm not buying it.

It's not Frank saying this. It's a direct link to a McMurphy interview. It's there, trust me.
