You're right. They misquoted him. He didn't mention them in that sentence. I have no idea where in the hell the Sentinel could have gotten the idea he was talking about the Big 12 there and inadvertently put them in.

Actually, USF was supposed to. Apparently Trotter is going around the horn talking to a lot of ADs and giving them a spot. Nobody, including USF would turn down an interview in national media to "stay quiet". Lol. That quiet thing refers to the ECU method of desperation.

The only thing interesting there to me is that the Slantinel homers purposely (or maybe accidentally on purpose) misquoted a UCF representative. Shocking.
