I would expect the groveling is happening for two reasons - one, they have very little chance of getting in, and two, because of that, they are probably feeling pressure by their fan base to be public about it.

Kind of makes me glad that despite some of our fans wanting us to go public, our admins have resisted any temptation.

For awhile I thought I was crazy for seeing that our own writers don't seem to care for us. Some at least. I did enjoy Auman.

Hitt's statement was taken out of context.  It was a dig as soon as he compared us to ECU.

Here's Hitt's actual true full answer/quote:

"Long term if you look at, or near term, if you look at UCF versus all the other possible additions to these conferences, we ought to be considered very seriously. There ought to be a home for us in one of them. Whether there will be or not, we'll see. We're going to do everything we can to be sure that people make whatever decision they make based on good information."

Hitt never mentioned Big12.

Saying there ought to be a home for UCF in one of them (dude, you have a home, stop effing about, you know what he means) is not really out of context - he thinks UCF deserves to be in a better place than where he is currently.

Trust me, UCF's Hitt is smart and very well respected by the B12 presidents. He knows better and UCF hasn't issued any social media or any kind of media campaign.  And for a reason.

Lets all just relax. Anyone can see that the best future financial expansion picks would be USF, UCF, UC and Houston. The Big 12 would be better served expanding to 16 as Texas will bolt at it's first opportunity. The Big 12 won't do that because the media partners will only pay pro-rata for 4 additional members. So that's what they will do. Will they chose the obvious ones? Who knows.
