USF has the 2nd most value among expansion candidates when looking at what football and men's basketball are "worth".

Interesting article. I would love more info on how the valuations were determined, but it definately puts USF in a positive light.

.... the other take-home from the article comes from the comments where as always Big 12 fans sound like out-of-touch tools.

UCF's football is worth more by $2 million while USF's MBB is worth more than UCF's MBB by $44 million?  Methinks something is askew.

I think the SEC fans are out of touch as are the BIG-12.   If you talk to Michigan or Notre **** fans, they think they just won the National Championship last year.

The following from the article somewhat explains the valuation:

According to the Journal: “(Ryan) Brewer analyzed each program’s revenues and expenses and made cash-flow adjustments, risk assessments and growth projections to calculate what a college team would be worth on the open market, if it could be bought and sold like a professional franchise.”

But USF MBB also appears to be worth more than WVU's MBB program, and that also seems to be "off." Their basketball has been pretty decent, unless it's totally nosedived in the Big12.
